Noman takes yet another 5 wicket haul

Strykers Whites’ Noman Khan

Strykers Whites vs. Stallions, July 28th

Strykers chose to bowl after winning the toss.

It is quite a sight to watch Nauman Zahid bowling at one end : short steps, quick arm action, getting the ball to swing in to the right handers whereas Pradeep mama at the other end rolling-in, huffing and puffing tuning his out swingers. Stallions were able to endure this combination admirably and took the score to 41/0 before Shabbir Khan got the first break through as he usually does. There was more resistance by the lefty Ashok with some nice drives but that was it. It was time for the Noman khan show – Noman brings the ball in with a chest-on action and zippy pace, He has a habit of picking wickets in heaps. Today was no exception as he proved deadly for Stallions taking three wickets before the 20 over break. After 20 overs it was Strykers dominance with Noman picking two more to end with figures of 5/16 – the fifth wicket was a peach of a slower ball taking the leg stick to get Stallions all out for a paltry 91. Other notable bowling performances were 3/19 for Sai and 2/12 for Shabbir.

Stallions did not help their cause defending a low total of 91 with some wayward bowling, the umpires getting a good stretch of their arms every so often. Strykers’ made the chase look easy with Ayaz (30*) playing some fine shots, especially pulling the short balls with a punch. Talha Muzaffar hit some good strokes and admired his newly seasoned Gunn and Moore, he seemed satisfied with his investment. The team was home and dry in the 13th over to register an excellent win.
